VPACK | Ephemeral E-Commerce Product-Service
VPack is a B2B concept, providing value to the moving industry in the UAE. An Ephemeral E-Commerce System was created based on a speculative Patent to use recycled plastic melted and made into packages for specially shaped furniture with the help of a vending machine system.
Product Design
The system was built across three interconnected components, each designed through a rigorous process. The app has been mapped through sitemaps and low-fidelity sketches before refinement, leveraging LiDAR 3D scanning to streamline inventory management for moving companies. The vending machine interface was developed through navigational diagrams and orthographic drawings, creating two distinct touchpoints: one for product dispensing and one for returns, with visual language carried over from the app for a seamless system identity.
At the heart of the system is Vpack, a furniture packing product-service designed to address real, overlooked problems in the moving industry: landfill waste, materials jamming waste sorting facilities, furniture damage from ill-fitting packaging, and health hazards posed by loose packing materials around children. Inspired by Anwenk's chair leg protectors and Belgium's Happy Cube, Vpack's puzzle-assembly system offers customizable, reusable protection with floor indents that secure furniture in transit. Together, the three components create a circular, efficient, and responsible moving experience.
